Pour m'amuser pour quelques jours j'ai regarder touts les Power Lap times de Top Gear que j'ai sur mon ordi.

Oui, je pense que c'est clairement le cas.

Les rumeurs disent que "l'ancien stig" était un pilote de rallie anglais.
Ces mêmes rumeurs tendent à faire croire que le nouveau est un ancien pilote de formule 1 (Damon Hill?)

En tout cas, ca ne peut pas être Tiff Needel.

J'ai reflechi un peu sur ma reflection, et je pense que quand il etait The Stig Top Gear vien de commencer avec cette nouvelle format. Je pense pas qu'il prener des risques avec les voitures. Au jourdhui vue sa popularite (250,000,000 viewers mondialement) les constructeurs veulent des bonne temps sur The Power Lap Time Board et The Stig peu pousser au maximum maintenant.

Peut etre j'ai tord mais dans tout les cas je trouve les ancien temps hors de normale par rapport au puissance.

Ca m'ettonerait pas si Damon Hill est le Stig, car il est ami avec Clarkson et c'est quelq'u qui le ferais juste pour s'amuser. Damon Hill, Super pilote, modeste et gentleman.

Ils font, j'imagine, référence à des pilotes de cources qui s'appelaient "Stig". Comme Stig Blomqvist, par exemple. C'est un prénom courrant dans les pays scandinaves, qui symbolise un peu une brute (de manière humoristique). Comme "Robert" en Français ou "Bill" en anglais.

The Stig is the mysterious "tame racing driver" of the popular BBC car show Top Gear. His name derives from the 1984 World Rally Champion, Stig Blomqvist. All shots of him show the same racing overalls (black in the first 2 series, white from series 3 and onward) and a helmet (of matching colour), but never reveal his identity. His job on the show is to drive various cars around the Top Gear test track. The times he sets with those cars are kept on a scoreboard that keeps track of the fastest cars they have tested. The easy listening and prog rock music the Stig supposedly listens to in the car is a perennial source of amusement to the main presenters. Although he never speaks, The Stig is credited as one of the show's presenters.

Whilst The Stig obviously has a racing background, his true identity has never been revealed--or even hinted at--by the Top Gear presenters. The intent is that he function as an unbiased 'standard' that can be used to test cars fairly. However, once Perry McCarthy's book, Flat Out, Flat Broke, was published in 2003 it became clear that he was the original Stig (from 2002 to 2003). McCarthy was a former Formula 1 driver and test driver for the Benetton, Arrows and Williams teams. In the first episode of the third series the original Stig (McCarthy) was "killed off" (with some spoof footage of The Stig supposedly driving off the end of the British Aircraft Carrier HMS Invincible after failing to brake in time), prompting the change of dress and music. The White Stig was introduced in the second episode of series 3 on November 2, 2003.

Rumours that The Stig was former F1 driver Damon Hill were confounded when Hill appeared on Top Gear on June 26, 2005. When asked if he was The Stig he never actually said no.

It is also to be noted that former Top Gear presenter and current Fifth Gear presenter Tiff Needell has been rumored to be The Stig. (NDBenji : Improbable, vu que needel et Clarckson se détestent).

Many racing drivers are often asked if they are The Stig by the public.

It appears that some rarer, privately owned cars may be driven by their owner, masquerading as The Stig. This was the case for the Maserati MC12, privately owned by Frank Mountain, a successful property developer; the car was at the time the only one in the country.
