Sunday 1-3-09 on the F1 track.

This year I will drive on my Yamaha FJ 1200.
IF and only IF the weatherprediction is "dry"or at least a chance of no rain (or snow)

I booked the hotel allready

Only for the DSK members.
(DSK = Deutsche Sportfahrer Kreis.)

Membership 55 euro including a very good magazin Sportauto (in german)
Trackday fee: FREE, no charge if you attend the meeting on saterday 28-2-09

It is possible to start your membership on 28-2-09 on the spot and you can drive 1-3-09.

Very interesting Outjer, thanks ! Unfortunately I will not be ready for this event. Please, keep us up to date regarding any F1 Nurbirgring track day as I have the intention to use some tire over there in 2009...

So I thought to drive my Yamaha on the track for the first time.
New tyres front and back.
New back protector for more safety..

Good weather
All set.

And than the big disapointment:
Track blocked due the building off a new tunnel that was delayed due to the 3 months of frost..
So the trackday will be in october/november this year.
I suppose it will rain all day..

Coming sunday 8-11-09 is the new date for the trackday on the F 1 circuit.
Only for those who attended the meeting on 28-2-09.

I recieved the papers and stickers for the car and the bike !
Now I have to choose.
Weather is not very good: rain and cold (4 degree).

I will try to survive my own madness Saturday at Francorchamps ...
3-5 degree ... raining ... and quite a few Lotus and mad pilots to drive with !!!
At the same time its Saturday ... my bed seems to be a nice place ...
Too bad I have to play taxi for one of the LotucCupEurope pilot ... ... up at 5 to be there at 8 ...

Bit cold driving to the Ring..

But on the track (dry after the first session) I did warm up really good.
Same problems as earlier this year at Zolder:
Rear tyre stepping out.(overheating)

In total 240 km at the track (4x25/30 min)

Yes nice time at Francorchamps Saturday ... wet and cold !!!

I did a few laps with the 2010 Exige S piloted by a Lotus factory pilot !

And also lapping with my friend in his LotusCupEurope prepared Lotus Exige S !
... at last he put the passenger seat back in !!!

Another friend in the LotusCupEurope in his 2-11 ... too bad he hadn't put his passenger seat back !

All three cars in standard Yokohama A048 ... which is ... nut in that weather !!!

Two other friend had wet tyres ... with much more grip !

From a dutch bike forum I received information about trackdays at the GP track Nürburgring.
In 2009 they organised 6 trackdays here.
Bikes an cars apart.

From somebody (2TheRing member) looking for trackdays on the Nordschleife ... on a bike and not mixed with cars, or like DSK separate.
